With regards to the current investigation by the Office of Fair Trading into price fixing for Manchester United and England football shirts, FootballFangs.com would like to reassure their public that their ‘Doggie Football Kits' are in no way involved. We want it to be known that the investigation is only concerned with ‘Human Football Kits'.

A brief description of FootballFangs.com

Just when you thought that the World Cup couldn't get any more commercialised, ‘FOOTBALL KITS FOR DOGS' come along.

The shirts are specially manufactured for today's dog. The ‘Well'ard Strips' are made in England by a recognised football shirt manufacturer, and from a lightweight cotton/polyester honeycomb material. It attaches around the neck and belly with Velcro fastening which ensures comfort and ease for both you and your dog. Via their website http://www.footballfangs.com they also sell canine football accessories, dog bowls, George Cross dog tags, etc.

There is a humorous side to the Footballfangs.com site with 'Readers Wives', where dogs send in pictures of their lady friends, and a problem page with 'Ask Doggie Adams'…'He's a hit with the bitches'.

The company, FootballFangs.com, is run by two friends Gordon James Wild Flynn and Tracey Moira Davies who came across the idea at about 2am on News Years Day. They then measured dogs, sourced out other coats for greyhounds, etc, and came up with the Well'ard Strip. The prototype was tried and tested on unsuspecting dogs in and around Crystal Palace, with their owners being very receptive and, more often than not, wanting to buy them.

Starting the business, sourcing the manufacturer, building the website and enabling them to take online transactions has taken approximately 3 months from foetus to bulldog.

Initial market research and response shows that this will be the ‘Rubik's Cube' the ‘Nodding Dog' or the ‘Little football kit in the back of the car window' of 2002, with World Cup Soccer fever just around the corner. Since the launch, they are selling like hotdogs
